Emanuel Small

International Affairs Track

Emanuel Small (B.A. ’25) is a sophomore, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: International Affairs, with a minor in Spanish. He is from West Palm Beach, Florida and is of African-American and Colombian descent. His interest in international affairs and humanitarian work began in 2011 when he lived abroad for several years in Cartagena, Colombia with his family. There, he engaged in community service work through food and clothing distribution to Afro-Colombian families in crisis. Currently, Small is a member of Howard University’s Bunche Brigade and volunteers with HU-COL Avanza, the university’s partnership with Colombia to strengthen academic and community development. An avid soccer player, Small has remained active in the sport through coaching and mentorship opportunities with underserved communities, including his work with the Florida Chapter of Special Olympics in the Palm Beach County area. Additionally, he provided uniforms and training to small rural soccer clubs in Cartagena, Colombia under the auspices of several Florida-affiliated soccer clubs. In his free time, Mr. Small enjoys long distance running and travel.
