Déja Daniel

Déja Daniel is a Pre-Law junior in pursuit of two Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology and Spanish, with a minor in Political Science. Upon graduation, she aspires to become a bilingual criminal defense attorney with the long-term goal of an appointed as a judge. A native of Tallahassee, Florida and resident of Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel began her legal journey serving as an intern with the Atlanta Bar Association Summer Law Internship Program, a Douglas County District Attorney Intern, and as a Law Academy Student in 2020. In 2021, she was selected as a Congressional Intern in the Office of United States Senator, Jon Ossoff of Georgia. Most recently, she spent last summer in Madrid, Spain as a 2022 Law Fellow of the Lex Fellowship. A strong advocate for free higher education and graduating debt-free, Daniel strives to help other students achieve their educational goals with financial freedom through her social media platform known as “Igniting Scholarly Confidence.” Additionally, she has served as Vice President of External Affairs with Revolt, Inc., Team Leader of the Howard University Up to Us team, the Treasurer of the Howard CHAARG Chapter, and recently became elected as the Administrative Secretary of the Howard University Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. Through her passions for law, education, and service, Daniel also devotes time to tutoring incarcerated students through the Petey Greene Program in Washington, D.C., speaking on college and scholarship panels for high school students, and serving as a Community Outreach Volunteer for The Movement Street, Inc. Daniel was named a Clinton Global Initiative Change-Maker, a Scholarship Owl Ambassador at Howard University, twice an Up to Us Civic Engagement Fellow, twice a Taco Bell Live Más Scholar, a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Scholarship Recipient, and a Nissan and Black Effect Podcast Network Thrill of Possibility Summit Scholar, among several other honors.
