Jerome M. Haynesworth II is the Program Coordinator for the Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship. In this role, he is responsible for managing the fellowship, which aims to uphold Ambassador Harris’ legacy by providing internship, mentorship and professional development opportunities for Howard University PRH fellows considering careers in public affairs.

Mr. Haynesworth was an overseas intern with the U.S. embassy in the Dominican Republic. For his work with the U.S. Department of State, he received the Franklin Award and was recognized for his efforts in the aftermath embassy crises abroad. For several years, he has also performed translation services for the U.S. government and was a contributing translator for the “Women Poets of Costa Rica 1980-2020” bilingual anthology.

A Howard University alumnus, Mr. Haynesworth also taught undergraduate and high school students on campus; and he is very excited to return to his Alma Mater as part of the Bunche Center team. He is a graduate student in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of New Orleans and former Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow at the University of Michigan. With his experiences in public service, education, and international affairs, Mr. Haynesworth looks forward to bringing the amalgamation of his background, skills, and passion to serve the students of Howard University.
